Formal Fabric Dictionary

There is no "right" fabric for a wedding gown. Your preference is all that matters. Some people like shiny fabric, others like a matte finish, some like a simple, unadorned design, while others prefer glitz and glamour.

Don't be pressured by what is "in" according to the media.  Choose what looks best on you, and with what you are most comfortable.

Style of pattern and the silhouette (shape) of the garment determines the type of fabric to use. The "hand" is the way fabric feels or drapes, and fabric must be felt or folded to determine the suitability of the fabric to the design.
